Jazz Intensive Faculty
Christian Pincock:
Director Christian Pincock is a trombonist and composer with experience in many styles of music including big bands, jazz combos, symphonies, and brass quintets. While living in New York, Boston and Berlin, Christian played with bands including The Walter Thompson Orchestra and The Joe Battaglia Big Band at venues such as Birdland and Lincoln Center.
Dan Dowling:
Dan Dowling is probably best known as the guitar player with Cadillac Bob & The Rhinestones and Alma. He has also performed with Bo Diddley, Mary Wells, and Del Shannon among others. He recently returned to Albuquerque from Nashville, TN, where he resided for ten years. He was named 'Best Unsigned Blues Artist' in 1995 by the Music City Blues Society.
Asher Barreras:
Asher Barreras has played bass professionally for the past 10 years and has a degree in jazz performance from the University of North Texas. Asher has toured Europe, lived in Barcelona Spain, recorded and played for several artists and continues to composes new music. An alumni of the New Mexico Jazz Workshop Honor Band Asher has also participated in the Albuquerque Jazz Orchestra and now plays with many local Artists around the 505 area. You can check out his original music, bass playing and singing within the local group Humoso.
